Throughout the month of October, Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) schools celebrated Red Ribbon Week, an annually observed week of drug prevention awareness.
El Dorado High School
The Golden Hawks’ campus was filled with activities during their Red Ribbon Week including wear red day and a “meme” dress up day.
Wagner Elementary School
As a part of Red Ribbon week activities, the Wagner Wildcats demonstrated that they “CAN say no to drugs” by collecting over 500 canned goods to support the McKinney-Vento program.
Woodsboro Elementary School
The Woodsboro Honey Bees kicked off their Red Ribbon Week with a “Wheels of Freestyle” Bicycle Motocross Assembly. Students were amazed by stunts and tricks, and learned that, to be an athlete and to achieve success in life, it is essential to choose and follow a healthy lifestyle.
Yorba Linda Middle School
Red Ribbon Week was in full swing at Yorba Linda Middle School! On Monday, students and staff “Put Drugs to Sleep” by wearing PJ pants, sweatpants and sweatshirts. On Tuesday, the school “Teamed Up Against Drugs” by wearing sports attire. “RIP Drugs” was the theme on Wednesday as the campus wore all black. Thursday, the Bobcats dressed up as a tacky tourists to support “Drugs Are Tacky.” Lastly on Friday, YLMS wore pink as a faded shade of red as the school “Faded Away From Drugs.” Students also participated in activities at lunch and break!
