After many months full of rehearsals and performances, the 2017 Marching Band season comes to a close this weekend. Every year, approximately 150 schools attempt to qualify for the Southern California Scholastic Band and Orchestra Association (SCSBOA) Championships. Over the course of the season, scores from individual tournaments are recorded and only 72 bands, 12 in each division, qualify for this prestigious event.

Once again, all four Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) high school Marching Bands have qualified for the SCSBOA Championship Tournament and will represent the school district in 4 different divisions.  Performances will take place Saturday, November 18.

This accomplishment speaks volumes of the work being done at not only the high school level, but also in the the middle school and elementary school music feeders as well. Over the course of the season, approximately 500 students in these programs have performed throughout Southern California and have brought home many awards.
