Before Thanksgiving, Sierra Vista Elementary School held a “Food & More Drive.” Students collected over 2,000 items including food, socks, clothes, toiletries, school supplies, and more . Twenty-three students in Sierra Vista’s GLEE Leadership academy (Great Leaders Every day in Every way) helped lead the drive by making classroom announcements and collecting & organizing all the items. Sierra Vista Eagles are proud that these items will be given to the district’s McKinney-Vento families before the holidays.
The Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) McKinney-Vento program provides food to families in the district who are experiencing homelessness, or who are living in transition. If you’d like to donate, please contact Jon Matson at 714-986-7028.
