Esperanza alumnus Brittany Force wins NHRA title

Esperanza alumnus, Brittany Force.

Brittany Force, Esperanza High School Alumnus (’02), became the National Hot Rod Assocation’s first female Top Fuel season champion since 1982 on November 12.  Force wrapped up the title in the quarterfinals and went on to win the event at Auto Club Raceway in Pomona. Force beat Shawn Langdon with a 3.668-second pass at 330.07 mph in the final for her fourth victory of the year.

After clinching the title, Brittany went on to say, “I can’t believe we are here. It seems like a dream…We struggled, we had our ups and downs, but we pulled it together when it mattered most.”

Congratulations Brittany — Esperanza is proud of you! Once an Aztec, always an Aztec!
