Lakeview leadership team organizes large holiday donation

Lakeview's holiday donation.

Leading up to Winter Recess, Lakeview Elementary School’s Peer Mentor and Mentees Leadership Team held a two week school-wide gift card drive for a charity called Samuel’s Trees.  Samuel’s Trees is a non-profit charity organization centered around encouraging and loving babies and families in the Neo-Natal Intensive Critical Care Units of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and other surrounding hospitals.  In total, the Lions were able to raise $6,000 in gift cards!

Students and parents decorated 20 Christmas trees with gift cards worth $300 each.  Mrs. Riggio, a 3rd grade teacher at Lakeview, and Mrs. Rogers, a Lakeview parent, then delivered the trees to families at the hospital.

This holiday season, many lives were touched by the wonderful generosity of the Lakeview community and the hard work of  the Lion Peer Mentors and Mentees.  Great job!
