On December 20, Valencia High School’s (VHS) AVID junior class coordinated a quick field trip to Sunrise Villa, a senior center on Bradford Avenue. Students had planned this service learning project to bring extra smiles to the faces of the valuable community members that call Sunrise Villa “home.”
Cupcakes and cookies were baked the night before and brought alongside frosting, sprinkles, and other decorations to provide the seniors a fun and delicious morning activity. The AVID students also brought a large donation of holiday socks and candy canes to distribute to all who they could find. Valencia is proud of this amazing group of students who demonstrated leadership and collaboration during this season of gratitude and giving.
