First ever district-wide Saturday Academy provides interactive visual arts experience for PYLUSD students

Saturday Academy students.

On Saturday, March 10, the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) hosted its first ever district-wide Saturday Academy, themed Art Studio, for 4th through 8th grade students at Kraemer Middle School.

Visual arts teachers Julie Masone, Sherrie Olive, Stacy Owens, and Audra Ross lead classrooms full of eager students through engaging lessons in directed drawing, color theory, and much more.

In addition to being an enjoyable and educational opportunity for students, Saturday Academy also allowed PYLUSD to recover Average Daily Attendance (ADA) revenues lost from student absences. Every dollar recouped through Saturday Academy will be reinvested into student success and essential programs throughout the district.

Mark your calendars! A second opportunity for 4th through 8th grade students to participate in Saturday Academy is coming soon on April 28, 2018, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Kraemer Middle School. Space is limited, so be on the lookout for an email and text message from PYLUSD including the Saturday Academy registration form and more details.
