Mabel Paine students combine spring and STEM with fun, engaging activity

Miss Depsky’s and Mrs. P-J’s special education class at Mabel Paine Elementary School recently integrated during a spring party to embark on a STEM activity that required fine motor skills, as well as physical and mental expertise.

The Mustangs were tasked with building a house, a tent, a vehicle, or any structure of their choice out of three materials — toothpicks, jelly beans, and marshmallow Peeps. This delicious and engaging activity was equal parts entertaining and difficult.

Students were so proud of their hard work, that some of them even took their finished structures home to show their families!
