BYMS students showcase innovative thinking at school’s 4th annual History Night

Months of work in Language Arts and Social Science classes came to fruition at Bernardo Yorba Middle School’s 4th annual History Night on May 3. Students chose a topic based on this year’s theme, “Innovation,” and created tri-fold projects, websites, and video documentaries. A variety of topics ranged from the light bulb, transportation, MRI technology to medicine, optics, medicine, and many more. Over 300 students and members of the community came to celebrate all of these students’ amazing work with special honors going to the following Matadors:

Best 8th Grade Website: Spencer Ellison, Jovan Sheldon, Kaitlyn Thiha, Naya Williams
Best 8th Grade Exhibit: Trevor Vukelich and Matthew Travassaros
Best 7th Grade Website: Cera Mallory
Best 7th Grade Exhibit: Giselle Espino, Arianna Abramovich & Kayla Drake-Weepie
Best 7th Grade Research Paper: Emmry Miller, Mikala Enright, and Chris Sharp
Best 8th Grade Research Paper: Jay Christensen, Shivam Valand, Christian Smith, and Jacob Mondero
