PYLUSD schools respond to the Paris attacks with compassion, action

In light of the recent terror attacks in Paris, Valencia High School French teacher Natasha Ulibarri and her students wrote letters to French President François Hollande.

Natasha said, “We have an opportunity to help students see that we are part of the world at large. By offering comfort and encouragement our students feel connected, which is a theme we’ve adopted this year at VHS.”

Additionally, students at Tuffree Middle School are engaging in a support movement for Paris victims, titled Sejour Fort Paris! (Stay Strong Paris!)

Students will be videotaped sending messages of strength and support to students in Paris schools near the attack areas. The videos will use the hashtag #peace4paris, and will feature a giant French flag with a peace sign logo as background.
