On April 22, the Valencia High School (VHS) girls water polo was honored at the CIF Banquet. This was a night hosted by CIF to honor and recognize CIF Finalist teams and All-CIF Teams.
Valencia’s team was presented with a team award for being CIF Runner-Ups for Division 6. To Valencia’s surprise, the award was presented by by Olympian Ryan Bailey. The Tigers also had five girls recognized for making the All-CIF team.
Students Stephanie Offner and Kelli Van Dam made All-CIF First Team, Shea Slonkosky and Stephanie Montero made All-CIF Second Team, and Fatima Villa made All-CIF Third team.
This is the first time in Valencia’s history that the girls water polo team made it to the final game and had five girls recognized on the All-CIF Teams.
