El Camino Real student’s logo design selected to uniquely brand Africa-based humanitarian group

MPower Logo from El Camino student.

El Camino Real High School (ECRHS) student Naomi Moreno recently had her logo design selected for the humanitarian company MPower Africa, based out of Mozambique, Africa.  At El Camino, Naomi is enrolled in Mr. Reid Petersen’s North Orange County Regional Occupational Program (NOCROP) Digital Design and Illustration course.

Numerous students in Mr. Petersen’s class submitted logo designs for this company, which teaches women in small villages in Mozambique how to sew and donates sewing machines.  With the tools learned from MPower, these women are able to make beautiful aprons which they sell online in order to support their families.

Naomi’s logo will be featured on the top of MPower’s website which launches in June, in addition to being used in all promotional materials and on the labels of each apron sold.  The student was also paid for her efforts.

“This design will be seen all across the world – how’s that for competing in a worldwide environment?!” exclaimed Naomi’s proud teacher, Mr. Petersen.
