Parkview retires two of its own!

Parkview retirees.

Mrs. Kathie DiRocco, the Parkview Prinicpal is calling it a day!

Mrs. DiRocco, pictured top right, has been an educator for 27 years having taught, in Orange Unified along with the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD), 6th grade and 3rd grade. She was also a Science TOSA for the district before entering administration. She was assistant principal at Bryant Ranch before spending 13 years holding the position of principal at Bryant Ranch, Morse, and will end her career at Parkview School.

Kathie and her husband, Henry, are excited to spend retirement camping and enjoying their granddaughter, June. They are also anticipating the arrival of a second grandchild this summer.

Kathie is also looking forward to spending more time with both of her parents as they enter into the last season of their lives.

Mrs. Debra Occhipinti DeSpenza is Parkview’s second retiree!

Mrs. ‘D’. as she’s known throughout the district, has been in education nearly 40 years, beginning her career teaching 3rd grade at St. Bruno’s Catholic School right out of college. She spent 17 years in the Mountain View School district, in South El Monte, along with being a part of the San Gabriel Valley Language Arts Consortium, before coming to PYLUSD. She’s held a myriad of positions in education; teaching all grades K-5, middle school, high school at La Entrada and two years at Rio Hondo College. She was also a mentor teacher for 11 years.

Additionally, Mrs. D was an administrator in PYLUSD, spending nine years at Travis Ranch and two years at Linda Vista.

She has said Parkview is a great place to end her career. It is a warm and loving environment for students, parents and staff alike.

Mrs. D and her husband Richard are avid travelers and look forward to having their passports stamped in many more countries!

Mrs. DiRocco and Mrs. DeSpenza have touched many lives in their careers and they will be missed.
