The Placentia Yorba Linda Unified School District’s (PYLUSD) McKinney Vento Program recently received backpack donations from two local organizations.

First, local realtor, Clay Kilbarger, from First Team Real Estate, donated many new backpacks to McKinney Vento students. Second, Christy Bronson a representative from St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, brought many new backpacks for the students of greatest need.

McKinney Vento, is a federal program for students who are living in transitional situations such as doubled or tripled up with other families for economic reasons, or living in homeless shelters, campgrounds, or cars.

Jon Matson, PYLUSD’s McKinney Vento Liaison and Teacher on Special Assignment, commented, “We could not accomplish what we do without the help of concerned community members like Christy Bronson and Clay Kilbarger. There is no better collaboration than local organization helping local students. The PYLUSD thanks First Team Real Estate and St. Martin de Porres Catholic for their support, and welcomes all future collaboration with local organizations like these.”
