Back in June, El Dorado High School (EDHS) student Colby Bladow found out she was selected to serve on the State Superintendent of Public Instruction’s Child Nutrition Advisory Council (CNAC) as their student member. Prior to the start of the 2018-19 school year, Colby traveled to Sacramento to be officially sworn into the CNAC by the State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Tom Torlakson. Colby has committed to a one-year term starting in September 2018.

The CNAC is composed of 13 individuals representing different segments of the child nutrition community. The CNAC’s mission is to advise the State Superintendent in areas of health, wellness, and nutrition for all students in California’s kindergarten through twelfth grade public schools. The CNAC meets for a one-day meeting in Sacramento in September, November, March, and May. Travel and other applicable expenses are reimbursed.

Great job, Golden Hawk!
