El Dorado High School “rocks” for CHOC

El Dorado rocks for CHOC.

On September 20, El Dorado High School (EDHS) Community Service Commissioners Brylee Hicks and Ellie Greer hosted a rock painting event on campus to support patients at the Children’s Hospital Orange County (CHOC).

Brylee’s sister, Timmaree, who passed away ten years ago following a battle with cancer, served as the inspiration behind this event at El Dorado. According to Brylee, her sister loved to paint rocks to pass the time while in the hospital. Since her passing, the Hicks family has raised money to assemble rock kits to donate to children at CHOC in Timmaree’s honor. For the past ten years, the family has given 250 rock kits per month.

That day, it was El Dorado’s turn to paint rocks. Students and staff members joined together in the quad to put their unique touch on the rocks. The rocks will now be sent to children at CHOC to remind them that the Golden Hawks care.
