Ruby Drive students learn about different art mediums inspired by popular children’s book

Ruby Drive Elementary School Preppy K scholars and artists are started their new year strong. Students are learning how to use different mediums of art such as water colors, bleeding art tissue, color pastels, tempera paint, color pencils and so much more.

In a more recent lesson, students were active listeners during a read aloud of “Go Away Big Green Monster” by children’s author, Ed Emberly. As they actively listened to the story, students used color pastels to draw the Big Green Monster and embellished their art piece with water color.

Not only was this a fun experience, but they also implemented their knowledge of colors, size, location of facial features and equally important their attention to focus. In the end, Ruby Drive’s Preppy K scholars and artists demonstrated to be fearless of the Big Green Monster.
