Ruby Drive classes connect their curriculum to visit with local fire station

Ruby Drive visits the fire station.

Second graders at Ruby Drive Elementary School enjoyed a much anticipated visit to Placentia Fire Station 35 on Thursday, November 1. The curious young students had many questions for the station’s firefighters, as they had recently read Benchmark Unit 1: “Government at Work.” The unit’s reading focused on a particularly fascinating topic for the second graders: special firefighters called smoke jumpers.

The Ruby Drive scholars had also just finished the corresponding performance task in which they wrote about all of the important responsibilities a fire fighter has. The students can now officially call themselves “fire safety experts.”

Ruby Drive is so thankful to the helpful and patient firefighters from station 35 who graciously hosted their young students.

Ruby Drive visits the fire station. Ruby Drive visits the fire station.
