Read Across America at George Key School

The students and staff at George Key School got into the “Seuss” spirit on Friday, March 1 for Read Across America Day.

Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on the birthday of beloved children’s author, Dr. Seuss.

Whether in pajamas or Dr. Seuss character clothing, the school gathered together to enjoy the literary works of Dr. Seuss. Mrs. Liza started the event with a dramatic reading of Green Eggs and Ham. Students were excited to chime in…I will not eat them “anywhere!”

“It is always fun to come together as a school and celebrate reading. The students respond very positively to the bright colors and the rhythmic reading,” shared Principal Kim Smith. “Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss. George Key salutes you!”
