Journalism students at Esperanza participate in OC writing competition

EHS students.

Over the weekend, three members of Esperanza High School’s (EHS) Aztlán staff participated in the Orange County Journalism Education’s Write-Off Competition. Thirteen high schools and over 200 students throughout Orange County participated in the event.

The competition consisted of the students attending a press conference and then having one hour to write a story or draw a cartoon. Photographers had two hours to take photos of the event.

EHS student.EHS sophomore Elyzabeth Andersen (pictured) won 3rd place in Feature Writing, which allows her to complete in the State Write-Off Competition on Saturday, March 16. Junior Ally Dahncke (News Writing) and senior Karalyn Knupp (Photography) received positive scores on their competitions, as well. Well done, Aztecs!
