Over the weekend, three members of Esperanza High School’s (EHS) Aztlán staff participated in the Orange County Journalism Education’s Write-Off Competition. Thirteen high schools and over 200 students throughout Orange County participated in the event.
The competition consisted of the students attending a press conference and then having one hour to write a story or draw a cartoon. Photographers had two hours to take photos of the event.
EHS sophomore Elyzabeth Andersen (pictured) won 3rd place in Feature Writing, which allows her to complete in the State Write-Off Competition on Saturday, March 16. Junior Ally Dahncke (News Writing) and senior Karalyn Knupp (Photography) received positive scores on their competitions, as well. Well done, Aztecs!
