Principal Adamson presents challenge coin to Rose Drive secretary, Dori Fregoso

Rose Drive Elementary School Principal Linda Adamson presented the PYLUSD challenge coin to one very deserving staff member: secretary Dori Fregoso. Having recently assumed the position of secretary, the timing of the presentation seemed perfect.

Principal Adamson had this to say about Ms. Fregoso:

“I never cease to be amazed by the quiet, calm, patient, professional, positive and dependable manner with which she approaches any given situation. Even after the toughest, longest and most challenging of days, we know we can rely on Dori to provide a smile, and find the humor and silver lining — no matter what. She has made it clear that she is here for us — that she puts Rose Drive staff, students and parents first — and that she adores what she does. The factor that I appreciate above all about Dori is her unassuming and so very humble nature, along with her calm and non-reactive response to just about any situation. Her days are long, meaning she is often the first to arrive and last to leave, but she does so with a skip in her step and a twinkle in her eye.

“Serving in the front office has its challenges, but Dori takes it all in her stride. She is, naturally, the one with all the answers — or at least the one we turn to for all the answers. The role of actually finding them is one I know she only makes APPEAR easy. Whether dealing with a sick child, concerned parent, staff member in need, emergency work order, missing teeth, a broken copier machine, a water leak — the list goes on — she never skips a beat. Her observant nature and impeccable follow-through means I know nothing will escape her attention. The relief that comes with that knowledge is worth — well, can we just say it is priceless? It is for these reasons — although, trust me, there are so many more — that I have chosen to present my coin to Dori.”

For all you do and everything you represent, thank you Dori! The district salutes your service and commitment to making a difference in the lives of our students.
