Charitable contributions earn Travis Ranch and Yorba Linda High students a trip to WE Day 2019

The WE Clubs at Travis Ranch School and Yorba Linda High School teamed up this year to attend WE Day California at the Los Angeles Forum.  Like in years past, it was another star-studded event with celebrity host Neil Patrick Harris, musical performances by Pentatonix and Meghan Trainor, and celebrity speakers Selena Gomez, Natalie Portman, Bill Nye, Hailee Steinfeld, Joe Jonas, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and many others.

WE Club encourages students to help others by changing their focus from “me” to “we.” The “WE” in the schools’ WE Clubs are not an acronym – it stands for “WE can do anything we set our minds to do. WE can make a difference in the world.” Students learn that they can make a difference today through service and charity, both locally and globally. No donation or action is too small to make an impact on the world.

Each year, students must earn their ticket to the inspirational WE Day event by participating in at least one local and one global charity campaign through their clubs.  This year, both clubs collected food for the homeless and sold Rafiki bracelets in benefit of Kenyans.

WE Club students work hard every year planning service and charity campaigns to support their local community and others around the world in need.  Teacher advisers are Paola Dell’Olio Hellwig at Travis Ranch and Desiree St Amant at Yorba Linda H.S.

Great job, WE Club students! WE appreciate you!
