VHS students awarded for excellence in computer science

Valencia High School is proud to announce that students Rachel Bang, Emily Beck, Hailey Cho, and Lyba Batla received awards based on their efforts and interest in computer science. On April 25, the four students were able to represent Valencia at the National Center for Women and Information Technology Aspirations in Computing Award Ceremony held at The Cove on the University of California, Irvine campus. Hailey received the Orange County Rising Star certificate. Rachel, Emily, and Lyba received the Orange County Regional Affiliate Award.

“We wanted to share this news with you in order to inspire more female students at Valencia to pursue this award in the future and continue representing our school at this prestigious award ceremony that opens pathways for female students,” said Lyba Batla.

  1. Congrats to these amazing VHS girls who have excelled in comp sci!!! The correct spelling should be Hailey Choe in this article; she was not able to attend.
