On Thursday, May 2, the Orange County Department of Education’s Office of Language Learner and Multilingual Services held a reception and awards ceremony at the Marconi Automotive Museum in Tustin to honor outstanding individuals from districts across Orange County.

The event celebrates those who have improved the educational opportunities and outcomes for English learners and emergent bilinguals. Two outstanding individuals from the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District were recognized – Diana McKibben, Principal at Ruby Drive Elementary School, and Teresa Shermer, English Language Development teacher at Valencia High School.

Congratulations to these two exceptional individuals!
