Travis Ranch Orchestra student and teacher will perform in Carnegie Hall

Jimmy Joo on the violin.

From June 18 to June 23, Travis Ranch School Advanced Orchestra student, Jimmy Joo, will be traveling to New York to perform on the violin as a part of Carnegie Hall’s Honors Performance Series. Thousands of students auditioned across the United States and only approximately 450 middle school students were accepted for the 2019 summer concert series.

Throughout the week, students will rehearse together in New York and meet other like minded musicians. Jimmy will be performing on Sunday, June 22 8pm, at Carnegie Hall’s Isaac Stern Auditorium.

Matthew Fang, Esperanza High School and Travis Ranch School’s Orchestra Director, is one of the few music educators also selected to perform administrative work with the Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall. He will be traveling together with Jimmy to represent Travis Ranch on the east coast!
