Esperanza High School senior serves as spokesperson for foster youth

EHS student.

Esperanza High School senior, Tye Rae Bailey, has had to overcome great adversity throughout his life. Tye entered into the foster care system at just 3 months old before moving to California at the age of 15 and living in a group home until 2018. During this time, the Aztec got involved in a non-profit organization called Kidsave.

Kidsave is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping older children move out of orphanages and foster care and into loving families. He got involved in their program in Spring 2018 and was given the opportunity to speak at their annual gala to help shine a spotlight on trying to find adoptive parents. Thankfully, Tye ended up finding a family through their program in August 2018.

In 2019, Kidsave offered Tye a chance to host their annual gala this year with Tig Notaro who starred in the hit movie Instant Family. After he hosted the gala, Kidsave offered him to be their youth spokesperson.

Now, Tye goes all over the country and world to help spread awareness for their program, foster youth, and their A&E documentary titled ” The Day I Met My Parents” that he will be featured in.

Tye is pictured second from the right in the picture above. Thank you for all that you do, Aztec!
