Esperanza High School role models infuse excitement at Glenknoll Elementary School

Glenknoll EHS visit.

The chants echoed loudly. An announcer enthusiastically narrated the activities. Dancers moved to the beat of the music. There was running, passing, and catching a football. The crowd went wild!

On Monday, September 9, members of Esperanza High School’s cheer squad, ASB, dance team, AFJROTC, and football team visited Glenknoll Elementary School’s campus to encourage students to attend their upcoming Elementary School Night! Each year leading up to the event, the Aztecs visit their six feeder elementary schools to personally invite the young students to a Friday night football game in Shapell Stadium.

Among the many Esperanza role models included Anna Kocklanakis from varsity cheer, Shaylee Matthews from ASB, Nick Kocklanakis, Nate Nadeau, Anthony Consalvi, Alex Lopez, and Julian Martinez from varsity football, and Mackenzie Lemmon, Katharina Abramovich, Jocelyn Lopez, and Zarina Asrani from varsity dance!

Several of these young leaders are Glenknoll alumni and some even have siblings who attend the school now.

Everyone involved had a ton of fun and the elementary students are looking forward to utilizing their newfound skills on Friday, September 13 at Esperanza’s Elementary School Night. Go, EHS! And go, Glenknoll!
