Students Andrea Sandoval, Isabella Alvarado, and Nirel Escamilla from Valencia High School recently decided to help the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) McKinney Vento Program organize their food pantry.

The Tigers were able to earn community service hours by helping Jon Matson, PYLUSD McKinney Vento Liaison, organize the food pantry just in time for the new school year. The three volunteers helped check expiration dates, organize and sort food, and make the pantry look neat.

Mr. Matson commented, “We love having PYLUSD students help out when they can. It is such a great way to give back to the community.”
