Yorba Linda High’s Adam Carrillo selected to be a part of the Tournament of Roses Honor Band

Adam Carrillo, a junior at Yorba Linda High School, will be marching as part of the Pasadena City College (PCC) Tournament of Roses Parade Honor Band. The Honor Band, made up of PCC band members and selected exceptional high school musicians, has participated in every Rose Parade since 1930.

Adam plays lead trombone in Jazz 1, and is the section leader with the band. He also is his class vice president, and a strong academic student.

The preparation schedule for the selected student is rigorous, with rehearsals held every Sunday from November through late December, including most of the days of the winter recess.

To prepare for this five-mile parade route, the Honor Band will march around 25 miles in rehearsals.

In addition to the Rose Parade, the band will be performing four more times, including a special appearance at Disneyland.
