Earlier this summer, the 10 and under Placentia Pony All-Star Baseball Team returned from Youngsville, Louisiana as the Mustang Pony International World Series Champions! The young athletes, five of which are Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District students, beat the Philippines, Chicago, and Mexico to claim the championship title.

These 10 year old boys started practicing in January and started playing games in February. Their entire season record is 45-17-3. They started their All-Star season on July 3, playing 19 games with a 17-2 record, ending on August 5. The Placentia 10u Outlaws took 1st place in their Districts, Regions, Super Regions, West Zones, and the International World Series! Representing the West Zones, they beat Mexico in the final World Series game 12-8 to become the International Champions!

These boys have worked hard all season, with playing in the Louisiana tournament as their one goal.

Playing on this championship team are 12 boys including Ty Ayala from Wagner Elementary School, Justin Karg from Rose Drive Elementary School, Darius Selway from Brookhaven Elementary School, Mason Shackleton from Golden Elementary School, and Logan Sylvester from Van Buren Elementary School.

The Placentia Outlaws will be honored as the Grand Marshals of the Placentia Heritage Parade on Saturday, October 12. Great job, PYLUSD student athletes!
