Esperanza’s choral music collaborates

El Dorado High School and Esperanza High School Choral Music programs both participated in the Vanguard University Women’s and Mixed Invitational Choral Festivals on October 22-23, 2019.

Each choral program brought their advanced women and mixed ensembles to the festival — EDHS Advanced Women’s Ensemble and Vocal Ensemble, and EHS Vivace and Vocal Ensemble.  Both choral directors, Mr. Ryan Yoder of EDHS and Mrs. Katie Villarreal of EHS enjoyed the event as it provided valuable feedback for their ensembles.

Every group participating in the event received the opportunity to work with Stan McGill, a highly recognized choral music educator in Texas and Missouri.  He has held professional positions as the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Vocal Chair and President of both TMEA and the Southwest American Choral Directors Association.

In addition, McGill has served on numerous TMEA, TCDA and ACDA committees including Program for 2009, 2013, 2017 & 2019 National ACDA Conferences. He is active as an adjudicator, speaker, director and clinician throughout the United States.

The festival was a wonderful opportunity for all the schools that participated in the event.
