On Friday, November 1, El Camino Real High School teacher Reid Petersen was recognized at the Orange County Teacher of the Year Ceremony at the Disneyland Hotel. Mr. Petersen was accompanied by El Camino Real principal, Carey Aiello (pictured below), as well as administrators from the North Orange County Regional Occupational Program, known as NOCROP. Mr. Petersen was selected as a Teacher of the Year by NOCROP for his work in expanding the digital design offerings for the El Camino Real Raptors.

“He is respected as a leader on campus who is always positive, innovative, and student-centered,” Principal Aiello shared.

After many years in industry, Mr. Petersen wanted to motivate and inspire teens to express themselves through digital media. This year, he launched a state-of-the-art print shop at ECHRS. Students can learn to make vinyl stickers, banners and wraps, a variety of print media, and direct to garment printing.
