Valencia High School shows off its programs and campus to educators from China

On Thursday, November 14, Valencia High School hosted a visit for 12 college educators from Shanghai, China. The visitors are here through a program with California State University, Fullerton’s College of Education. The Valencia Tigers were asked if they would host the international educators’ first American public high school visit. The visit included a presentation by Principal Olivia Yaung as well as two hours of classroom visits.

According to Olivia Yaung, the entire group was very impressed by what they saw, heard, and experienced in each and every Valencia classroom that they visited. Courses showcased that day included IB Theory of Knowledge, IB English, IB Computer Science, IB Economics, Chemistry Honors, Precalculus, Advanced Graphic Design, Robotics/Mechatronics, AVID, Jazz Band, Treble Chorus, Culinary Arts, Building Industry.

The visit concluded with the Chinese 2 Honors students joining the educators for lunch to share their American educational experience as compared to that in China. Before they left, they shared their gratitude and appreciation as well as a gift for the school to enjoy.
