Philanthropy alive and well at Mabel Paine

This fall, Mabel Paine Elementary School has been very busy with community service projects. The P.O.W.E.R. (Pride, Own your actions, Well-prepared, Engaged and Respect) Posse, led by Jacquie Nolan, sponsored both a blanket drive and a toy drive for families in need in our area.

During the blanket drive in November, Mabel Paine families donated over 90 blankets! The blankets were divided between McKinney-Vento and Hot Meals Ministry. McKinney-Vento helps families in our district, and Hot Meals Ministry helps the homeless of our community. They were definitely needed and appreciated, as it has been getting very cold at night.

This week, Mabel Paine successfully completed its annual toy drive. Mabel Paine families donated over 100 toys this year! The toys were picked up and delivered to Melrose Elementary School, and will be given out to families during the monthly food distribution event, sponsored by Second Harvest Food Bank.
