Kraemer Middle School sends students to Hollywood to experience the entertainment industry

Kraemer field trip.

On Thursday, November 14, Kraemer Middle School continued an over 20-year-long tradition of providing Hollywood field trips for students. This is a Kraemer tradition largely facilitated by the efforts of teacher, Shane Twamley. In preparation for the trip, every teacher on campus nominated one student to be honored for “Being Kraemer.”

Fifty one students were selected and then introduced to the skills and careers needed in order to create a televised production including engineers, carpenters, writers, digital artists, makeup artists, producers, directors, choreographers, and actors. Students enjoyed a meal on Hollywood and Vine, then traversed the Hollywood Stars Walk of Fame.

Activities Director, Ricky Castro, helped coordinate this trip and joined the students as a chaperone. As a former student at Kraemer, Mr. Castro remembers the indelible impact this trip had on him when he was a student.

Students wrote thank-you notes to their teachers for nominating them for this captivating, Kraemer experience. Great job, Cubs!

Kraemer field trip. Kraemer field trip.
