Esperanza musicians participate in SCSBOA Honor Jazz ensembles

EHS jazz.

This weekend at SCSBOA Honor Jazz Auditions, Esperanza High School placed 6 students between 3 ensembles (2 Jazz All-Stars, 3 Jazz Ambassadors, 1 Honor Jazz Band), and 1 alternate. Esperanza had the most students included in this prestigious competition with 7, nearly twice the number of players from any other jazz program represented. Los Alamitos and Agoura Hills high schools each had 4 students included.

The jazz ensembles are made up of students from all across Southern California, and EHS is incredibly proud of these hard working musicians! Band Director, Brad Davis, will share the stage with these students at their Honor Jazz concert on January 17, as he has been selected to conduct the SCSBOA Honor Jazz Band. Congratulations to the following Aztecs:

Jazz All-Stars
Bryan Melendez- lead trombone
Joao Mejia- bass trombone

Jazz Ambassadors
Trevor Secoda-lead alto
Russell Williams- bass trombone
Kaitlyn Locke- split lead trumpet

Honor Jazz Band
Noah Seward- third trumpet

Alternate
Sinclair Williams- piano

EHS jazz. EHS jazz. EHS jazz.
