El Dorado High School’s (EDHS) ED LAW Academy hosted its second annual Legal Thunder event on January 30, with 85 students in attendance. Students at the event, including 62 current academy members and 23 8th grade applicants, spent the evening learning from three panels comprised of nine local legal professionals (one Superior Court judge, four criminal attorneys, two civil attorneys, an appellate clerk, and a retired court executive and jury commissioner), four of whom are EDHS alumni. Students rotated among the panels and had the opportunity to ask questions of each set of legal professionals. The discussions were moderated by ED LAW student leaders. ED LAW will host a second round of Legal Thunder next week.
