This year the Orange County Athletic Directors hosted the 20th annual Women in Sports Conference. Due to her dedication to the event, the day will now be known as the “Sally Reclusado Women in Sports Celebration.” As a proud Golden Hawk, Sally served as the girls Athletic Director at El Dorado High School prior to her retirement.

This year’s event had an outstanding group of speakers including El Dorado alumni — Dr. Alexis Barile, a basketball player at APU who went on to become a principal at Centennial High school. She was followed by Janie Reed (Takeda), who was also an EDHS alum who went on to play softball at Oregon and is now competing on the USA Olympic Softball team.

Other speakers from the event included the first female NBA official, Violet Palmer, Olympic gold medal swimmer, Kaitlyn Hogan, PAC 12 Conference administrator, Teresa Gould, and Hall of Fame UCLA softball coach, Sue Enquist.

Students from all over Orange County attended, including students from all four Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District high schools.
