Students enrolled in the Foods elective at Travis Ranch School experience hands-on cooking activities, which helps students to develop confidence, culinary and safety skills in the kitchen. This year, teacher Mrs. Rho was committed to offering the same enriching opportunity as a typical year, but with additional health and safety precautions.
Both Roomers and Zoomers are offered two ‘cooks’ per week and all are able to enjoy them as they head into lunch. A recent focus was breakfast, so students prepared breakfast burritos and pancakes. As students learn to follow recipes, develop problem solving skills, and become more independent, they are then rewarded with a delicious meal of their own making! Way to go, Trailblazers!
