The Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) is excited to announce the addition of Cambridge Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE) Diploma, a new program coming to the campus of Valencia High School in Placentia beginning with the 2021-2022 school year. Cambridge is a pre-university diploma program recognized by elite colleges around the world. The integrated curriculum of college-level coursework is based on international standards and infused with globalism. Students have the opportunity to earn a full year of college credit with membership in this prestigious Academy program by completing the Cambridge AICE diploma.

The Cambridge AICE Diploma encourages students to develop an informed curiosity and lasting passion for learning. It offers students the opportunity to tailor their studies to their individual interests, abilities, and future plans within an international curriculum framework across three curricular areas: Mathematics and Science, Languages (English and World Languages), and Arts and Humanities. The capstone course for the program is the Cambridge Global Perspectives & Research course.

Students enjoy the benefit of membership in a unique Academy program along with the camaraderie of a focused, academically-oriented peer group. Academy students develop a deeper understanding of their subjects as well as becoming independent learners and growing in their critical thinking skills. The Cambridge program is flexible, allowing students to focus on subjects they enjoy or feel they would be successful in.

The Cambridge AICE Diploma program joins a long list of academic offerings already in place at Valencia High School including 28 Advanced Placement (AP) courses as well as the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program, Val Tech Academy, AVID, and much more.
