PYLUSD Board Member celebrates student success

ECRHS student graduate.

Board of Education Clerk, Marilyn Anderson, visited El Camino and joined Principal Carey Aiello, Language Arts teacher, Christine Bonner, and Digital Design teacher Reid Petersen in honoring Class of 2021 graduate, Selena Alvarez. Selena serves on the Superintendent’s High School Advisory Council (SHAC) and has participated in the El Camino’s partnership with Soroptimist International for the past two years.

Just before the team congratulated Selena on finishing all requirements for graduation, she shared with Mrs. Anderson how she had just finished an online interview with the board from the soroptimists headquarters. Selena was selected to share the impact of the Dream It, Be It program; her feedback will be included in the organization’s newsletter and promotional materials. Selena shared how the circle of support offered by the school and the volunteers from the Brea/LaHabra soroptimists offered her a safety net, support, and motivation.

ECRHS was honored to have Clerk Anderson join in the celebration. Way to go, Raptors!
