Golden Elementary School is prepared for earthquakes with on-site emergency supplies, but what about students’ pets? Girl Scout Annika from Mrs. McDonald’s fourth grade class is working with girls from five other local schools to provide earthquake readiness kits for pets. To achieve the Bronze Award, the girls have developed an organization that will not only provide kits, but also increase awareness of the needs that area shelters have. Hopefully, other students will also volunteer or support pet shelters in the future.
Golden students’ musical talent shines
On the last day before winter recess, Golden students were serenaded with beautiful holiday music provided by four sixth grade students. Ellie Wang, Erica Lee, Emma Kim and Elizabeth Do played amazing renditions of classic holiday tunes on their cellos.
