Glenknoll’s students participate in civil engineer-like activities

What happens when several different forces push or pull on an object at once? That was the driving question from the physical science unit for Glenknoll Elementary School students recently.

Glenknoll third graders collaboratively explored different pushes, pulls, direction, and forces that will keep a ball on a “track.” The students had a blast and didn’t want to stop! In fact, they wanted to improve their “trials.”

By the end of the unit, students will be designing and developing an “ultimate playground,” applying the skills and knowledge acquired throughout the unit. What a fun way to incorporate Next Generation Science Standards.
