AVID students at Esperanza examine happiness and a future career opportunity

Esperanza AVID.

AVID juniors at Esperanza High School recently spent their Mindful Monday conducting an experiment called The Science of Happiness. They wrote about a person that influences them and why, and then called that person live to read it to them directly. There were many happy tears shed by all and everyone left feeling increased happiness. That was the end goal: the experiment proved that sharing one’s gratitude with others actually makes them feel happier in the end.

AVID classes also experienced their first outside-of-campus guest speaker in years! Firefighter Kyle Clafford came in to share his experiences in his field, the path he took to get there, and provide our students with valuable information about future career opportunities.
