George Key and Venture Academy team up to hold successful canned food drive to benefit surrounding community

George Key and Venture canned food drive.

George Key School and Venture Academy in Placentia recently held a dry food and canned food drive to benefit the surrounding community. In total, the school received 425 donated items!

The schools would like to thank their staff, community, students, families, and Golden Elementary for supporting their canned food drive. They also shared a very special thank you to Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District Board Vice President Marilyn Anderson for her support.

The items were taken to Koch Park and Kraemer Park to be added to the Blessing Boxes, which are free community food pantries. The items were also taken to the Homeless Intervention Services of Orange County. The mission of Homeless Intervention Services of Orange County is to support people to overcome homelessness and achieve independence. Venture Academy students assisted with the deliveries and had the opportunity to learn about the Blessing Boxes and assisting families in need.

Way to go, George Key and Venture!
