Glenknoll Elementary School students spread kindness across campus

Glenknoll kindness tree.

Glenknoll Elementary School 6th Grade Peer Assisted Leadership (PAL) students recently spread an endearing message of thanks schoolwide. They volunteered to lead one age group (TK & K, 1 & 2, 3 – 5) and then designed lessons on Powerpoint.

In the classrooms, the PALs read Bear Says Thanks, by Karma Wilson, led a discussion about what students are thankful for, and guided them through an art project. Students traced and cut out their hands and wrote what they are thankful for on each of 5 fingers.

Although advisors Jessica Leonard, Amy Huhn, and Danielle Miller helped streamline and adjust the slideshows, ultimately the PALs executed very successful lessons! The end result was two beautiful “thankfulness” trees that were proudly displayed in the MPR!
