BizWorld program inspires students to create their own companies at Morse Elementary School

Morse BizWorld.

On January 20, Morse Elementary School launched an exciting after-school enrichment program to inspire fourth through sixth-grade students and provide an innovative platform for learning. BizWorld is an interdisciplinary, project-based program that gives students the opportunity to start and run their own companies. Students learn the basics of entrepreneurship, business, and finance while they engage in activities that reinforce math, social studies, language arts, and economics.

BizWorld also emphasizes the value of teamwork, cooperation, and communication as students work in teams to create and run successful companies. Participation in the simulated friendship bracelet industry enables students to learn financial literacy skills while engaging them in authentic opportunities for applying 21st-century skills.

As a result of Morse’s BizWorld program, a friendship bracelet sale is scheduled to take place on March 31, 2022, on campus. Just like the real business world, each company will create, market, and sell its bracelets (products) to make the most money (revenue) possible. In the end, the company with the highest team value will be recognized!
