Parkview graduation.

Parkview School held its 2022 graduation and promotion on Monday, June 13, at the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District Performing Arts Center. The school awarded 31 students their high school diploma and promoted dozens of eighth-grade students. Notably, three students who received their diploma graduated early as juniors.

To begin the ceremony, a piano prelude was performed by student Emi Sasajima. Principal Dominique Polchow then welcomed those in attendance including Parkview students, staff, families, and distinguished guests including Board President Carrie Buck, Vice President Marilyn Anderson, Trustee Karin Freeman, Superintendent Dr. Jim Elsasser, and Assistant Superintendents Dr. Linda Adamson, David Giordano, and Rick Lopez. A salute to the flag was presented by a group of students before the national anthem was performed by student Malia Swanson.

Parkview’s eighth-graders were recognized first with various awards, scholarships, and then their promotion certificates. Parkview students David Gillentine and Dylan Proctor then delivered separate addresses in front of an energetic crowd of fellow graduates, loved ones, and staff members.

Before receiving their diplomas, Parkview students were awarded various scholarships including the Presidential Awards, Seal of Biliteracy, the Alice Hetland Scholarship, and the PLUM Award.

Board President Carrie Buck then accepted the Parkview Class of 2022 as having met all the necessary requirements in order to earn their high school diplomas! Notably, of those graduating students, 100% will be moving on to attend a college or university following high school. Congrats, Panthers!
