Fairmont Falcons hold special ceremony in honor of Patriot Day

Fairmont Elementary School ceremony

On Friday, September 9, Fairmont Elementary School students, staff, and families gathered together on the blacktop to remember September 11, 2001. Dressed in red, white, and blue, students stood together to say the pledge of allegiance and sing the national anthem, led by the Girl Scouts Honor Guard and the Bernardo Yorba Middle School band. Students shared special poems and different ways to show kindness and help others.

Active and retired fire, police, and military personnel were invited to the special ceremony to be recognized and honored. They were invited to stand with their children in front of the stage to be recognized. During this time, students passed out thank you cards to the heroes who serve or served our country. What a wonderful sight to see! The staff and students of Fairmont Elementary are so thankful to all of the nation’s wonderful heroes!
