Aztec Care Closet offers free basic necessities to support the success of Esperanza students

Esperanza Aztec Care Closet.

Esperanza High School in Anaheim recently launched a new and exciting initiative called the Aztec Care Closet. The Aztec Care Closet offers a one-stop shop on campus for students to receive free basic necessities such as clothing, toiletries, personal hygiene items, school supplies, and more.

Esperanza’s staff hopes that the Aztec Care Closet will offer essential supplies to students so they can be present on campus, focused on their academics, and ultimately, successful. It is open before- and after-school on Wednesdays and will be run by members of the community. It is located in room 771 in the 700 building.

“We want it to be a safe and welcoming environment for you to come in,” Activities Director Meghann Lukach shared. “The store is open to all.”

Students who need to access Aztec Care Closet supplies but do not have time to go in the store can place an online pick-up order using a unique QR code and form. Community members will package students’ orders and leave them for pick-up.

In an effort to keep the Aztec Care Closet stocked, the school is seeking donations from members of the community through Amazon Wish List and other means. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated, and more information is available at www.esperanzahs.net.

Way to go, Aztecs!
